Man Utd and England star Mary Earps emerges as favourite for BBC Sports Personality of the Year after goalkeeper's World Cup exploits with Lionesses

Manchester United goalkeeper Mary Earps has been tipped as the favourite to win the 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

    The projections come from Betfair, who have touted the goalkeeper to win the award ahead of English cricketer, Stuart Broad and jockey, Frankie Dettori. The Lionesses' star sits currently has odds of 8/11 while Broad and Dettori are at 9/4 and 9/1 respectively.

    Earps was instrumental in England reaching the World Cup final. She produced three clean sheets and conceded only four goals during the campaign, ensuring she took home the famous Golden Glove trophy. She also saved a penalty in the final which ended in a 1-0 win for Spain over England.
